Sleep - Essential to a Healthy
Body!
An
important element of Feng Shui is to insure good sleep
to the home’s occupants. The Chinese discovered
thousands of years ago that the body heals itself while
sleeping at night when put in a supportive environment.
Thus, according to Feng Shui, each person has four
specific bed directions in order to achieve good sleep.
When I consult on a home, I look for the house type;
East or West Group, which is based on the sitting
direction of the home, and the trigram element type of
the person living in the home. Ideally it would great
if the house type was a match for the person's trigram
type. (this is covered in detail in my
Professional Training Course and also in my Feng Shui
Workbook).
The first step is to determine your personal element
type. You can do this for free on my website at
www.fengshui4balance.com by clicking on “Free
Profile”. Next once you discover your personal element
type, you will notice four directions listed according
to your personal Trigram, for example: a wood, yang type
would have the best sleep directions: East, Southeast,
North, or South. All four would be good for sleep, the
first, East, being the very best for sound sleep for the
wood yang type.
In addition to placing your bed in its most supportive
direction for you, there are several other things you
can do to support your sleep.
-
First be sure to keep all electrical appliances;
TV’s, clock radios, computers, at least 3 feet away
from your body, especially your head.
By the way electric water beds are the worst
because the electricity heating the water actually
depletes the body and leaves you weaker upon
awaking. (If you want to test this, just stand on
an electric cord and have someone test your muscle
strength. As you extend your arm have them push down
while you try to resist. You can even do this when
the cord has been unplugged from the wall. If the
body is weak your strength will be reduced.
-
Second, select the color of sheets that support your
element.
I have had lots of good testimonies from clients
who improved their sleep, just by changing the color
of their sheets!
First you must determine your element type. Let’s
use the wood type
again from our previous example. According to the
Productive cycle (which is displayed in detail in my
workbook and on my website where you charted your
personal element; and also illustrated here in this
article), the color of the wood element is green.
Therefore, green would be a good color for bed
sheets to support the wood type.
Referring to the Productive Cycle we see that water
supports wood. In nature, plants (wood) grow when
care and proper water is added, therefore; a good
color for the wood type would also be the colors
representing water: blue and black.

The colors for the wood type to avoid are the colors
that reduce wood, which are the fire colors: red,
burgundy, maroon, and purple, taken from the
Reductive Cycle, and also the colors and elements
that dominate wood, listed on the Dominate Cycle;
which are gold, and white. The Productive,
Reductive, and Dominate Cycles show how different
elements have different effects on each personal
according to their personal trigram type.
-
The last thing to remember, keep the wall colors in
a pastel tone.
Any intense colors in the bedroom may disrupt your
sleep and even create challenges in your life.
After implementing the above suggestions, if you
still wake up feeling tired, it could be due to the
energy vibration of the room
Without a Feng Shui consultation on your home to
determine the energy in the bedroom captured when
the home was built and the roof was closed in, you
would not be able to determine the colors that best
support the environment; in turn affecting your
life. If your bedroom is good for money, it
would be supported by greens and reds, or if that
area of your home has the potential for sickness,
delays and/or struggles, this would be increased by
reds and yellows on the walls.
The information about the room's energy affecting
your daily life, can only be determined with a
compass reading, allowing us to see the room's
energy potential which was set in place when your
home was built. The wall colors have nothing to do
with the colors that are supportive to the
individual's personal trigram colors.
